It is not an accident that you are on my Home Page. Thank you for being here. The word ‘yoga’ means ‘union’, a practice over 5,000 years old originating in Northern India. Yoga calms the mind and body to eliminate stress and improve health and vitality. Yoga poses (asanas) imitate life; reaching, pushing, pulling, strengthening, stretching and twisting are all incorporated in the practice. Combined with breathwork you have a powerful practice that will help keep you relatively stress-free. Being stress free is essential for your immune system to function at its best. In fact, yoga is a combination of weight training (your body against gravity), that gradually build up heat in the body and this will help with weight loss if combined with good nutrition and hydration. There is little or no stress on your joints as alternatives are given. You will look and feel younger and more relaxed with regular practice. Why not complement your normal exercise routine with a weekly yoga class?
